The clarity, tone, and power achieved through using this mystery wood blew my socks off.especially when this bridge gave my Vega a BOOMING 4th, which I had been unable to find previously. What I like about them is they are consistent and the notes on my banjo's are very clean, clear right up the neck (or any where that I play them) and it amplifies the sound of my banjo's . This bridge with my setup produces amazing tones, still "old time" plunk but with incredible, full rich clarity over the entire fretboard. At $10 you cannot beat this bridge. It's built like a brick outhouse; I can't imagine that it would ever need replacing. There are several fine bridge makers out there these days, and I've tried a number of them, but to my ear these bridges of Bart's give the most "punch" while also increasing clarity, depth, and most importantly bass response, relative to the best of the other bridges I've tried. The notch for the 4th string is bigger so there was no problem getting that wound 4th string to seat properly. a hear a crisper note with noticeably more sustain and less drop-off as the note decays. We had 6 band members and a soundman to pay. Today, i received a Virgil Lawson New 2014 Design Bullfrog bridge inmaple/ebony., 11/16" standard, 2.2 g. This bridge appears to be somewhat less bulky than previous models. I got improved clarity, and a big improvement in tone and volume. I didn't have to put as much effort into slides, pull offs,and hammer on. It is only when Amelia stops being scared and comes to terms with her husband's death that the Babadook loses its power over her. And I make nice stuff. I have tried the Veerman mystery, Enigma, and archies and they are all some of the best bridges ive played with, for tone, clarity, projection, and note separation.
